Marie the anorexic - 11 May 2010
I have recovered in this photo and I am very happy too...

Hi there,

A long time ago, before Anorexia nervosa was possibly unheard of by most folk I was truly anorexic. I was a sick puppy or kitty, whichever you prefer. I just wanted t be thin and found a diet that worked! yeah! Low carbs. Within a year and a half I was truly anorexic, down to 37 kilos [under 6 stone] and loving it. But disaster was near as I continued on my downward spiral, wanting to be thinner and thinner and lighter and lighter.  Soon I had lost my appetite and loved being in control of something special - me -

These two things are danger signs and if you have them start by talking to someone who cares. I would go on to say that these psychological signs can turn inward and even beome demonic! [don't worry about that, it's still under the power of Jesus]

I believe I was possessed to some extent; but now something controlled me: I know this is true because I wound everything social around my eating likes and diet needs in order to remain thin as... I had the unfatomable vision of heaps of fat on a plate instead of food - and I could not eat.

The enemy of God and man wants us to fail, to be under the control of evil and to be destroyed. Don't waste time as you waste away and your waist gets thinner [I was 31 x 19 x 31 when I turned 21] and I wanted to be thinner! My BMI was too low. You can get your Body Mass Index on line, which is your weight divided by height. Mine is now 8.5 stone 14lbs x 8.5 = 119 = BMI of 19 which is fine.  When I was anorexic I was around 80 lbs [around BMI of 9] This is very dangerous and I am one of the lucky ones who managed to creep back to 'normal' because of certain factors: I will cover these more fully at a later time. Must away and eat! ha ha. I love my food now and enjoy everything in small quantities and try not to eat when I feel full, so my weight has been stable for years; maybe a stable [steady] weight means a stable mind? I hope so as I think of myself as sensible most of the time!!
